 AboutScott R. Maesel serves as a managing director for Sperry Van Ness, LLC, specializing in the sale of investment properties, with a focus on retail. With more than 17 years of industry experience, Maesel has secured more than 500 transactions totaling in excess of $400 million in value. Licensed in Illinois in 1991, Maesel began his real estate career as a leasing agent with Glascott & Associates in Lincoln Park. At the time, he also began an entrepreneurial venture in the hospitality industry, while simultaneously owning and operating a restaurant and bar in Lincoln Park for more than five years. In 1998 he joined the boutique leasing firm Garrett Realty & Development in Chicago, where he was director of retail sales and leasing. In 2002, Maesel had the great fortune of partnering with Sean J. Conlon, to execute Conlons vision of a highly successful commercial division, within his existent residential powerhouse, Century 21 Sussex & Reilly Real Estate. In 2007 the commercial division of Century 21 Sussex & Reilly evolved from an independent multi-faceted commercial real estate brokerage company to SR Commercial, a full-service commercial firm servicing Chicagoland. As a Chicago entrepreneur and an active commercial real estate broker, Maesels vast business experiences and local market knowledge have led him to co-host a local real estate radio talk show and regularly scheduled speaking engagements. Maesels leadership roles have included Chairman of Commercial Forum, Board of Directors of the Chicago Association of Realtors as well as a member of the Certified Commercial Investment Member Institute and a Founding Sponsor and Board of Directors of the DePaul Real Estate Center in Chicago. Maesels vision and passion for commercial real estate has led him to be a recognized industry leader.
